Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support our Cypress, CA or Colorado Springs, CO locations. You will process vouchers, manage payments, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure accurate accounting records.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2–4 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/Office skills. US Citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (additional experience may substitute)
• 2–4 years of accounting experience
• Understanding of US GAAP
• Research and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities

• Enter 2-way and 3-way vouchers into Accounting System
• Communicate with employees in multiple locations regarding orders and vendor requests
• Manage shared Accounts Payable e-mail inbox
• Create and process vendor payments and employee reimbursements via printed check and ACH/EFT
• Communicate and coordinate with Accounts Payable team, Buyers, and Shipping/Receiving Departments
• Manage and reconcile multiple company credit cards
• Build and maintain rapport with employees and vendors
• Create and maintain electronic Accounting files
• Other accounting projects as assigned
