Job summary

ALLIED BUILDING STORES INC. in Monroe, LA is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. You will compile, verify, and process invoices, maintain records, and support daily financial workflows with accuracy.

You will communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies, perform reconciliations, generate reports, and provide clerical support across the accounting function. The role requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training in accounts payable, inventory accounting, accounts receivable, invoicing, or bookkeeping (or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience).
• Proficiency operating computer systems/terminals and standard office machines.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sort, code, and enter data from source documents into accounting records for daily posting to AP/AR.
• Examine source documents to verify data accuracy and calculations.
• Scan invoices and attach supporting documents for electronic transmission to dealers; review and reprocess rejected items.
• Prepare and distribute posted invoices via electronic mailing to dealers.
• Assist Invoice Clerk with batch invoice entry as needed.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and correct errors or log discrepancies.
• Review error reports and enter corrections into the system.
• Coordinate with source document preparers to clarify questions or gather missing data.
• Handle vendor/dealer inquiries and resolve disputes professionally.
• Compile financial and operational reports for management and cross-train across accounting functions.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain data integrity and provide coverage as needed.
• Maintain and organize accounting records; perform general clerical duties.
