Job summary

County Materials Corporation in Marathon City, Wisconsin, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. This role handles high-volume AP tasks, vendor communication, and error-free processing in a multi-entity environment.

You will participate in process improvements and automation initiatives while maintaining strong internal controls and timely payments. Office hours are typically 8:00a–5:00p with a collaborative team mindset.

Qualifications

• Prior accounts payable, accounting or related experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of transactions and competing priorities.
• Comfortable working with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments accurately and timely.
• Review invoices for proper approvals, coding and documentation.
• Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts, locations and entities.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
• Work directly with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment questions.
• Set up and maintain vendors in the ERP system.
• Obtain and maintain vendor documentation, including W-9s.
• Assist with month-end AP accruals.
• Assist with use-tax tracking and reporting.
• Follow established accounting controls and approval procedures.
• Support other AP and accounting projects as needed.
