Job summary

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting and billing team in our Tinley Park, Illinois office. This in-office role supports the West Coast offices and attorneys and is based in Tinley Park, IL.

You will create checks, reconcile vendor statements, process travel reimbursements, and manage client billing details, using Elite 3E and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college coursework in business, accounting, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of related accounts payable or accounting experience.

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting and billing team in our Tinley Park, Illinois office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to grow with an established, firm. The Accounts Payable Specialist will support the accounts payable team broadly, with a particular focus on supporting Segal McCambridge’s West Coast offices and attorneys.

This is an in-office position based in Tinley Park, IL.

What You’ll Do

• Create checks and electronic payments
• Prepare ad hoc reports and accounting analyses
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Review, enter, and process attorney travel expense reimbursements
• Upload and maintain expense details for client billing
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoice and payment status
• Review and process accounts payable invoices
• Enter accounts payable invoices into the Elite 3E accounting system
• Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation
• Assist with accounts payable activities across the firm, with an emphasis on supporting our West Coast offices
• Provide copies and documentation as needed
• Assist with special projects and other accounting tasks as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Some college coursework in business, accounting, or a related field preferred
• 1–2 years of related accounts payable or accounting experience
• Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work with numbers, understand mathematical concepts, and analyze data
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
