Job summary

ACTS Fleet Maintenance, Inc. in Knoxville, TN is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to own and optimize the AP function. This role emphasizes accuracy, vendor relationships, and timely payments in a stable, growing company serving customers since 1989.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of AP experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Experience reconciling accounts and resolving invoice discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and on time.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation.
  • Manage payment schedules and prepare weekly check/EFT runs.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and payment information.
  • Assist with month-end close by reconciling AP accounts.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

What You'll Do

You'll own and support the Accounts Payable function, including:

  • Processing vendor invoices accurately and on time
