Avets in Monroeville, PA is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist for a part-time, on-site role with four five-hour shifts weekly. Start times typically between 8am and noon. Compensation is $22 per hour, plus experience-based variation.

You will manage full AP processes, reconcile vendor accounts, handle AR transactions, support month-end close, and maintain audit-ready records. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in accounting, strong Excel skills, and careful attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in accounts payable/receivable or general accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice processing, GL coding, approvals, and timely vendor payments.
• Reconcile vendor accounts, resolve payment discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process accounts receivable transactions, including client payments and insurance payments.
• Research and resolve outstanding balances, unapplied payments, chargebacks, and other discrepancies.
• Support month-end close activities with reconciliations, financial reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
• Prepare refunds, payroll deductions, weekly cash deposits, and other routine transactions.
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on account reporting and financial updates.
• Train Client Care Coordinators on financial workflows and billing policies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes with accuracy and efficiency.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:

• Research and resolve outstanding balances, unapplied payments, chargebacks, returned checks, and other account discrepancies.
• Support month-end close activities by assisting with reconciliations, financial reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
• Prepare refunds, payroll deductions, weekly cash deposits, and other routine financial transactions.
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, CareCredit reporting, and audit-ready financial documentation.
• Serve as a trusted resource for client financial inquiries and collaborate with hospital leadership on account reporting and financial updates.
• Train and support Client Care Coordinators on financial workflows, billing processes, and hospital financial policies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to continuously improve financial processes while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional service.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting.
• Experience working with accounting or ERP systems; familiarity with Dayforce, CareCredit, Trupanion, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with financial reports and data.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
