At this time, STAR has an open position for an Accounts Payable Specialist (full-time, exempt) in our Minneapolis Office. This position plays a critical role managing and processing a company's bills and expenses, ensuring that vendor payments are processed and paid accurately and efficiently, and providing support to vital accounting functions. The ideal candidate for this job will possess a collaborative spirit, a commitment to exceeding client expectations, intense attention to detail, and an exceptional ability to manage assigned tasks and timelines.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Utilize internal job tracking software to handle accounts payable for different entities and vendors.
• Setting up invoices for payment, processing checks, wire transfers, and ACH payments
• Reviewing, verifying, and processing invoices and check requests.
• Reconciling payments and preparing analysis of accounts.
• Producing monthly reports and assisting in month-end closing.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors, and responding to vendor inquiries.
• Ensure vendor invoices are processed in a timely manner
• Assist with front desk responsibilities as assigned.
• Other duties as required to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

• 2 or 4 year degree in Accounting or Business Administration, preferred.
• 3+ years of accounts payable experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple priorities.
• Must have proven ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally.
• Software proficiency with MS Office, Internet, Dynamics NAV. (Business Center)
• Service orientated.
• Willingness and ability to work adjusted hours during peak periods to ensure client needs are met.
