Job summary

CHS is seeking an Experienced Accounts Payable/AR Specialist to join its finance team in Herman, MN. The Experienced AP/AR Specialist will provide day-to-day support for the business unit customers and vendors through the entire procure-to-pay process and, at the same time, seek process improvement efficiencies and understand corporate structures, business contacts, and stakeholders.

This role is onsite at our Herman, MN location.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or AP/AR.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, or related field.
• Pre-employment screening may be required according to job requirements and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Process and monitor supplier invoices, payments, and related transactions to ensure accuracy and timely resolution.
• Research and resolve invoice, payment, and supplier account issues, including past-due invoices and processing exceptions.
• Serve as a primary contact for supplier inquiries and maintain positive working relationships through effective communication.
• Monitor workflow queues, outstanding approvals, aging items, and department metrics to support operational objectives.
• Identify root causes of payment delays, document findings, and provide reporting or escalation support as needed.
• Maintain accurate records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files.
• Utilize financial systems and tools to process transactions, track activity, and support system enhancements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment issues and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, documentation updates, testing activities, and departmental projects.
• Support cross-training efforts, provide backup coverage, and contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused team environment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• 1+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and/or AP/AR
• High School diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications

• Proficient in MS Office suite
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Associate's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
