Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance Department in a role focusing on processing invoices, vendor payments, and maintaining accurate records. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and may offer remote or hybrid options depending on business needs.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of related AP experience, solid Excel skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related accounts payable experience
• P references an accounting or professional services firm is a plus
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Review and code invoices and expenses in accordance with firm policies
• Prepare weekly check runs and ACH payments; process manual checks
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve issues with vendors
• Set up and maintain vendor accounts; prepare 1099 forms at year-end
• Assist Time & Billing with reviewing time and invoices
• Monitor and reconcile credit card statements and receipts
• Support other AP duties and special projects as assigned

This position process accounts payable transactions, responds to vendor inquiries, assist with time & billing functions, and maintains account records. This position reports to the Accounting Manager. Some positions at Novogradac may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. Please discuss available options with your recruiter.**Your Contributions and Responsibilities**Review and code invoices and expenses reports while adhering to firm policiesPrepare weekly check runs and process manual checks as requiredPrepare ACH payment extractions for vendor payments and employee expense reportsReconcile vendor monthly statements and resolve any outstanding issues with vendorsMonitor lease due dates and reconcile rental operating expenses and paymentsSet-up and maintain vendor accounts; and prepare 1099 forms at year-endResearch and code transactions in the suspense accountsMaintain and resolve support queue inquiry tickets related to Accounts PayableAdminister credit card transactions, along with reconciling the credit card statements with gathering receipts, coding, and data entryAssist the Time & Billing team with reviewing time and invoicesMonitor cell phone and MiFi devices and usageOther duties and projects as assigned**Your Background and Skills**Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting1-3 years of related accounts receivable or payable experience, or appropriate balance of education and work experienceAssociate's degree or college level coursework in accounting is preferred.Prior experience in a professional services firm a plusStrong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel, as well as experience using accounting software systemsSound understanding of financial concepts and ability to perform calculations for a variety of transactionsSuperior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsNovogradac is committed to fostering a welcoming workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to grow.
