The role reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and emphasizes collaboration with purchasing and receiving teams.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in accounting or related field, 1–3 years AP experience, and solid skills in MS Office and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable or similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with accounting software preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices in compliance with GAAP.
• Prioritize invoice processing to maximize cash discounts.
• Prepare and distribute supplier payments on time.
• Serve as primary point of contact for supplier inquiries.
• Review and process employee expense reports.
• Reconcile company credit card statements.
• Assist with month-end close and annual audits.
• Collaborate with purchasing and receiving teams.
• Process supplier purchase returns and credit memos.

What you will accomplish as a Accounts Payable Specialist at TAPCO:

The primary function of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to provide financial and administrative support to the finance team. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices in compliance with GAAP
• Prioritize invoice processing to take advantage of cash discounts
• Prepare and distribute supplier payments on time
• Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier inquiries
• Review and process employee expense reports
• Reconcile company credit card statements
• Assist the accounting team with month-end close and annual audits
• Work extensively with purchasing and receiving teams
• Process supplier purchase returns and credit memos
