Job summary

The Accounts Payable Manager at The American Arbitration Association oversees the end-to-end disbursement process, ensuring accurate payments and regulatory compliance. This hybrid role is based in downtown Manhattan, with a salary range of $99,500–$105,000 and quarterly incentives.

The position drives month-end close support, process improvements, and collaboration with Finance and IT on system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 5+ years of AP experience including 2+ years in management.
• Experience with AP automation tools and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct accounts payable operations including vendor management, invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close through variance analyses, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance through regular audits of internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop AP team members to enhance operational efficiency.
• Partner with Finance and IT departments on systems implementation and optimization.
• Facilitate internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Attend on-site meetings and training sessions.

Summary

The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the end-to-end disbursement operation, ensuring accurate payment processing and regulatory compliance. This role manages financial workflows, supports month- end close activities, and drives process improvements while collaborating with key stakeholders.

This is a hybrid position based out of our downtown Manhattan headquarters. The salary range for this position is location is $99,500 - $105,000 with quarterly incentive opportunities.

Essential Functions

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, with 5+ years of AP experience, including 2+ years in management, or an equivalent mix of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, reconciliation, and problem-solving
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
• Experience with AP automation tools and systems
• Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle)
