This hands‑on leader will develop scalable AP processes, drive controls, and build a high‑performing team while partnering with Finance and Operations to deliver accurate payments and timely month‑end close. The role requires strong AP expertise, SOX awareness, and a track record of leading teams through process improvements using ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with a focus on Accounts Payable.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable operations, controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience in a SOX-compliant environment is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and large data analysis.
• Proficiency with MS Office: Word and Outlook.
• Experience with large ERP systems and AP workflow tools preferred.
• Knowledge of 1099 reporting and filing requirements is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Accounts Payable professionals with coaching and performance management.
• Foster accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement in AP.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and development initiatives for the AP team.
• Oversee all AP operations: invoicing, payments, and compliance with reimbursement policies.
• Manage electronic payments, check disbursements, contractor and tax payments.
• Ensure timely, accurate AP reporting and month-end close activities.
• Implement process improvements and optimize ERP/AP systems.
• Monitor aging, payment accuracy, and exception rates.
• Ensure internal controls, SOX compliance, and support audits.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, HR and operations.
