Job summary

FlightSafety International seeks a Manager, Accounts Payable to lead enterprise AP teams, ensure accurate, timely disbursements, and maintain compliance. The role partners with Financial Leadership to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in Accounting Operations/AP, 4+ years supervising staff, and proficiency in SAP and Concur, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. This on-site position based in Columbus offers growth within a global aviation training leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 7+ years of experience in Accounting Operations/AP.
• 4+ years of supervisory experience, managing supervisors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve disbursement related approval guidelines, payment controls, industry best practices, and company-established policies and procedures
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, analysts, and coordinators; foster a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and high performance
• Monitor and facilitate daily AP operations, set priorities, provide project direction, and oversee team performance
• Evaluate internal accounting processes across the enterprise to improve efficiency and alignment with organizational goals
• Lead efforts to align AP processes across divisions, where applicable, to promote consistency and standardization
• Drive process optimization and automation through ERP implementation
• Establish methods and processes to monitor quality and efficiency within the department
• Establish procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting for general ledger coding of invoices
• Oversee the processes ensuring proper approval of payments in accordance with the Company’s delegation of authority
• Analyze current and historical disbursement activity to identify opportunities for operational streamlining and process improvement
• Provide guidance to internal partners and external vendors on disbursement related activities
• Participate in special projects as assigned
