Job summary

Metalico in Akron is seeking an Accounting Clerk to coordinate invoice and payment processes, uphold inventory accuracy, and support multiple locations with accounting and operational tasks. You will work with site controllers, scale operators, and the Controller to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

The role requires strong AP and inventory accounting knowledge, Excel proficiency, and meticulous attention to detail. Regular office hours are expected with standard business days.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ work experience in an Accounting Department and/ or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word and Outlook) with advanced Excel.
• Experience in Accounts Payable and Inventory Accounting.
• Working knowledge of business systems (RIMAS Shared Logic software preferred).
• Experience with general ledger coding.
• Proficient in data entry.
• Strong knowledge of AP methodology.
• Demonstrated skills in customer service.
• Excellent written, organization and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage all invoices, credits, and related documentation.
• Balance and post the scale and ATMs for Metalico Akron locations.
• Prepare month‑end reports and assist with financial closing activities.
• Research discrepancies / errors on daily cash reconciliation.
• Maintain the AP inbox and ensure all invoices are entered in the system.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform inventory management activities.
• Reconcile and maintain intercompany transactions and balances.
