Job summary

Center for Veterans Issues, Inc. (CVI) in Milwaukee, WI, seeks an Accounts Payable Clerk to support housing, stability, and veteran services by processing invoices, payments, payroll, and related expenses with accuracy and compliance.

You will ensure timely vendor payments, reconcile statements, and maintain audit-ready records while collaborating with the payroll provider to resolve issues and uphold GAAP and grant requirements. CVI is an EEOC/AA/ADA employer.

Qualifications

• Experience with AP—vendor invoices, check requests, reimbursements, ACH payments, electronical transfers.
• Ability to match invoices to POs and supporting docs.
• Experience with payroll processing and timecard accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review and process vendor invoices, check requests, reimbursements, ACH payments, and electronic transfers.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, approvals, and supporting documents.
• Monitor deadlines, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records.
• Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-/year-end close.
• Process biweekly payroll ensuring timecards are accurate.
• Collaborate with payroll provider on issues.
• Support audits and ensure GAAP and grant compliance.
• Protect confidentiality of financial and employee information.
