Accounts Payable Coordinator & Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Coordinator & Team Lead to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will oversee all Accounts Payable functions, collaborate closely with our AP Manager, and handle responsibilities including vendor engagement, managing the AP inbox and vendor communications, preparing payables runs, tracking surplus payment requests, reviewing employee credit card expense reports, and maintaining annual 1099 tracking and reporting. This role requires strong leadership skills, team training capabilities, adherence to deadlines, and effective prioritization. There are also opportunities for growth within the AP and broader finance & accounting teams.

More about You:

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all Accounts Payable functions in collaboration with the AP Manager
• Leading a team of AP Clerks
• Reviewing AP transactions and implementing related controls
• Preparing regular payables runs
• Managing employee expense reports
• Maintaining professionalism when managing escalated communications with vendors
• Facilitating communication between vendors and internal purchasing stakeholders
• Suggesting, implementing, and maintaining AP-related internal controls

Experience & Education:

• High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in AP coordination
• At least 3 years of team leadership experience
• Fraud prevention and internal control training experience
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Discretion in handling sensitive information
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Proficiency with accounting software and Google Suite

Pay: Starting range with bonus: $60-75k, plus up to $1,000/month wellness stipend and other benefits.
