Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a construction company in Belton, TX for an Accounts Payable Clerk. The role requires accuracy, strong QuickBooks Desktop experience, and keen attention to detail.

You will process invoices, enter data in QuickBooks, issue payments via check or ACH, and reconcile statements. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; pay is $20–$24 per hour DOE, with benefits discussed during interview.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience.
• Required: Experience using QuickBooks Desktop.
• Strong Excel skills including data entry, formulas, and spreadsheet management.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Construction industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
• Enter invoices, purchase orders, and payment information into QuickBooks Desktop (Enterprise).
• Prepare and issue vendor payments via check, ACH, and other payment methods.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and documentation.
• Monitor accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Generate reports and maintain spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
• Communicate professionally with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries.
• Partner with internal departments to ensure proper coding and documentation of expenses.
• Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed.
