ACCOUNTING CLERK JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisors and other managers within the company. Ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, assists with A/P & A/R duties, and other tasks as assigned.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors.
- Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
- Compiles and sorts documents, such as bills and checks, substantiating business transactions.
- Input data (invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records) into accounting system.
- Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
- Assist with project and job cost reporting.
- Audits bills against purchase orders, researches discrepancies.
- Work in QuickBooks to support the company.
- Generate & submit internal Sales Orders.
- Review A/P for accuracy and ensure that the proper approvals are in place.
- Prepare checks, account statements, reports, and other records, and reviews for accuracy.
- Processes credit cards payable and accounts payable to ensure that payments are up to date.
- Reconciles report discrepancies and problems.
- Assist with expense report tracking.
- Assist with licensing compliance.
- Prepare & send invoices to customers.
- Add, receive, and post customer payments to remitted invoices.
- Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts and services.
- Assists with special projects as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- College degree in accounting/finance a plus.
Pay Rate:
Based on experience.
