Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, track, process, and reconcile payments and expenditures, including POs, invoices, statements, checks, and refunds, following policies.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving docs; research and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure outstanding obligations are credited on payment; identify discounts; issue PO amendments or stop-payments as needed.
• Maintain vendor files with remittance info and tax documentation in line with company controls.
• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end close activities, including accruals for unvouchered receipts.
• Generate reports and present them accurately.
• Communicate with internal and external clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: Hartford Bakery Inc - Evansville, IN 47710, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: 1st, Job Category: Finance, Lewis Bakeries is searching for an Accounts Payable Clerk, responsible for receiving, verifying, processing, and tracking all invoices and payments from a variety of suppliers and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive, verify, track, process, and reconcile payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, refund requisitions, etc. while maintaining compliance with all financial policies and procedures
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation, research and resolve discrepancies with purchasing, receiving, and the vendor, and escape unresolved items timely
• Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed
• Maintain accurate vendor files, including setup, remittance information changes, and required tax documentation, in accordance with Company control requirements
• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end close activities including accruals for unvouchered receipts and open payable reporting
• Generate necessary reports and present accurately
• Communicate with internal and external clients
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma required.
• 1 year of accounting, banking, or office administration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn other accounting software systems.
• Great communication skills, written and spoken form.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic; self-starter.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to handle a high volume of invoices and meet weekly payment deadlines.
• Ability to handle vendor and payment information with confidentiality and sound judgment.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday 7AM – 4PM.
