Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for our hybrid role at the Global HQ in Rosemont, IL. In this role you will sort, code, and reconcile invoices, verify PO matches, and resolve discrepancies while maintaining AP controls.

You will work with vendor inquiries, post invoices, and support audits. The position prizes accuracy, communication, and the ability to manage high volumes daily.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Excel.
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and handle high volumes daily.
• Thorough knowledge of AP systems and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Sort, code, and match invoices through the AP system.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and balances.
• Review payable invoices for accuracy and PO match.
• Resolve invoice/payment discrepancies and maintain memos.
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
• Set invoices up for payment and post to the system.
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with AP policies and procedures.
• Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments.
• Provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Report sales taxes on paid invoices.
• Upload expense reports into the ERP system.

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Global HQ in Rosemont, IL - typically M/F are remote and T-Th are in-office collaboration days #LI-Hybrid

As AP Clerk at Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, you will:

• Sort, code, and match invoices through the AP system
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Review payable invoices for accuracy and match to the purchase order submitted for authorization of purchase
• Resolve invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensure credit is received for outstanding memos
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Set invoices up for payment, enter and post invoices to the system
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with AP policies and procedures
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
• Submit change requests to the supplier master database
• Upload expense reports into the ERP system
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

What Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our AP Clerk (Qualifications):

• High School degree or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred
• 2-4 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Computer literate, with proficiency in Excel
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi‑task and handle high volumes on a daily basis
• Thorough knowledge of AP systems and techniques
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP system and/or AP Express Accounts Payable system preferred

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $43,200 - $61,200 annually.

This role is categorized as non-exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Rosemont, IL and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
