Job summary

Anderson Automotive Group is seeking an entry-level Accounts Payable specialist at our corporate location in Raleigh, NC. This on-site role suits detail-oriented individuals with strong Excel skills and a quick learner who can handle posting invoices, vendor inquiries, and month-end tasks.

Ideal candidates will bring basic accounting knowledge, a high school diploma, and reliable time management. Automotive experience is preferred; a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Respond to all vendor inquiries.
• Maintain W-9 information and annual 1099 reporting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Post approved purchase orders and invoices to general ledger accounts.
• Sort, code, review, and verify vendor invoices in a fast-paced environment.
• Print and mail checks to vendors according to payment terms.
• Reconcile vendor statements and pay balances owed within terms.
• Assist in month-end closing tasks as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Someone with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency
• Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously, excellent organizational and time management skills, and interpersonal skills
• Respond to all vendor inquiries
• Properly post approved purchase orders and invoices to general ledger accounts
• Sort, code, review, and verify vendor invoices in a fast-paced environment
• Print and mail checks to vendors according to payment terms and maintain paid invoice files
• Review and maintain accounting schedules
• Maintain W-9 information and annual 1099 reporting
• Reconcile vendor statements and pay balances owed within agreed credit terms
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Assist in month-end closing tasks as assigned
• All other tasks/projects as assigned
• Automotive experience preferred
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record is required
• High school diploma or equivalent
