Job summary

AlphaStaffHCM is assisting a San Antonio client in finding an Accounts Payable (A/P) Assistant to support day-to-day invoice processing and vendor management. You will work alongside the A/P Specialist to ensure invoices are accurate, properly documented, and matched to vendor records before payment.

This collaborative role offers growth with hands-on experience in ERP/accounting workflows within a stable, contractor-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of A/P processes, including invoice review and basic payment workflows.
• Strong attention to detail to spot discrepancies in invoices/documentation.
• Comfort with Microsoft Excel and data entry.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured, detail-oriented environment.
• Strong communication with vendors and internal teams.
• Reliable and organized, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate vendor invoices for accuracy and proper documentation.
• Enter invoices and code data in the accounting system.
• Prepare vendor and subcontractor payments and reconcile with docs.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and vendor records.
• Assist with month-end close activities and reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries.
