Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors and answers general questions at front desk.
  • Sorts mail for Accounts Payable and researches returned checks.
  • Processes Bank C check runs after signing by accounting.
  • Manages check distribution and mailing, pickups, and signatures.
  • Researches Infor expense checks questions.
  • Keeps incentive reporting records for awards/prizes.
  • Reviews Wire and ACH posting registers for accuracy.
  • Coordinates with student workers for front desk coverage.
  • May maintain several small vendor accounts as needed.
  • Assists with special assignments as requested.

Job description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Greets visitors and answers any general questions at front desk.
  • Daily sorts mail for the Accounts Payable department and distributes to the appropriate AP processor. Researches returned checks for updated addresses.
  • Finishes processing of the Bank C check runs after the checks are signed by accounting.
  • Organizes check distribution including mailing, contacting payees for checks to be picked up, obtaining signatures as necessary, and handling special mailing situations such as certified, FedEx, registered, etc.
  • Researches and provides answers to questions regarding Infor expense checks.
  • Maintains records for incentive reporting for any individuals receiving awards or prizes from Liberty University.
  • Reviews daily Wire and ACH posting registers for accuracy prior to filing.
  • Coordinates with student workers whenever necessary for front desk coverage.
  • May be asked to maintain several small vendor accounts on an as needed basis.
  • Helps with special assignments as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Tier I - High School diploma or equivalent customer service experience of 2-3 years
  • Tier II – Bachelors degree with 4+ years of customer service/office experience in a related field
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan
  • Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Customer Service experience
  • Associates Degree in Accounting (Tier 1)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Tier 2)
  • Fluent in Spanish or American Sign Language

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Occasionally required to handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure. The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
