Job summary

Primary Talent Partners, LLC is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst in Memphis, TN for a 3-month contract. The role involves investigating invoice processing exceptions within the automated AP system and driving timely resolution.

You will collaborate with P2P processes, IT, and finance teams, owning exception management from start to finish and driving process improvements. SAP experience and manufacturing AP background are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP, ideally supporting FICO and Accounts Payable functions.
• Manufacturing environment experience with strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes.
• Experience using automated accounts payable processing systems and workflow tools.
• Knowledge of automated approval workflows, exception management, and process automation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and identify root causes of invoice processing exceptions within the automated accounts payable system and resolve them.
• Communicate professionally with internal departments to resolve invoice processing issues and maintain relationships.
• Own exception resolution from identification through closure, with timely follow-up and clear communication.
• Analyze recurring exception trends and recommend process improvements to reduce manual processing.
• Escalate unresolved issues while balancing business needs and financial controls.
• Collaborate with business partners to improve master data quality.
• Assist in developing and maintaining documentation, procedures, and training materials related to exception management.
• Influence outcomes and drive accountability across teams without direct authority.
• Manage multiple issues simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join a global industrial manufacturing and service company in Memphis, TN. This is a 3-month contract to start with the potential for extensions.

Pay

$25.71 - $27.26/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions

• Investigate and identify the root causes of invoice processing exceptions within the automated accounts payable system and take appropriate actions to achieve timely resolution.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with internal departments, including PSM, Purchasing, Receiving, operations leadership, Finance/Accounting team members, and IT to resolve invoice processing issues and to maintain positive working relationships.
• Take ownership of exception resolution from identification through closure, ensuring accountability, timely follow-up, and effective communication with all stakeholders.
• Analyze recurring exception trends and recommend process improvements to reduce manual processing and intervention.
• Escalate unresolved issues appropriately while balancing business needs, operational requirements, and financial controls.
• Collaborate with business partners to improve master data quality
• Assist in developing and maintaining documentation, procedures, and training materials related to exception management.
• Influence outcomes and drive accountability across functional teams without direct reporting authority.

Requirements

• Experience with SAP, preferably supporting FICO and Accounts Payable functions.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes.
• Experience utilizing automated accounts payable processing systems and workflow tools.
• Knowledge of automated approval workflows, exception management, and process automation preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools preferred.
• SAP experience is required. AP experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience with automated AP processing systems is preferred.
