Job summary

Silver Spring Foods, Inc. in Eau Claire, WI is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst to manage vendor invoices, perform 3-way matches, and maintain confidential financial records with accuracy and discretion.

This role supports the Accounting Department, monitors vendor statements, ensures proper tax treatment, and keeps files up to date while upholding company policies and excellent customer service with internal and external contacts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years accounting experience.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Accounting.
• Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and perform 3-way match.
• Represent Accounting for payable inquiries across Huntsinger Companies.
• Monitor monthly vendor statements and aging.
• Maintain files for paid/unpaid invoices and receiving reports.
• Apply Sales & Use tax correctly to purchases and send tax certificates.
• Update vendor records and authorize changes.
• May back up switchboard coverage when needed.
• Sort incoming mail and follow SOPs while safeguarding confidentiality.

Processes and coordinates matters of a confidential nature. Discretion and technical skills with ability to generally work independently is essential.

Requirements

• Responsible for processing vendor invoices and maintaining vendor files. This includes performing a 3-way match of documents and following up with appropriate internal personnel on discrepancies.
• Acts as a representative to the Accounting Department for inquiries regarding payable information for Huntsinger Companies (Huntsinger Farms, Kelchner Food Products, and Silver Spring Foods,). Maintains and promotes positive customer service communications and attitude with all contacts, internal and external.
• Monitors monthly vendor statements with internal statements to verify any aging. Reviews open invoices periodically with buyers.
• Maintains files for paid and unpaid invoices, including receiving reports.
• Ensures that all Sales & Use taxes are properly applied to taxable purchases. Sends tax exempt certificates to suppliers of tax exempt items/supplies.
• Maintains vendor records and ensures changes are properly authorized, including verification through known contacts.
• May serve as backup for switchboard coverage.
• Sorts and distributes all incoming mail, when needed.
• Is knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times. Follows all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviews them regularly.
• Demonstrates good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of financial information.

Education & Work Experience

Required: High school diploma and two years of experience in an accounting capacity, with exceptional customer service skills. Preferred: Associate Degree in Accounting and/or three years related accounting experience.

Licensing, Registrations, Certifications

Preferred: Notary Public
