Silver Spring Foods is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst in Eau Claire, WI to manage vendor invoices, perform 3-way matching, and maintain confidential financial records. The role involves coordinating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payment processing.

The ideal candidate will have an accounting background, strong Excel skills, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality while supporting a broad range of finance activities within a family-owned food

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2 years of accounting experience required.
• Associate Degree in Accounting and/or 3 years accounting experience preferred.
• Must maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and modern techniques.
• Proficient in spreadsheets and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing vendor invoices and maintaining vendor files, including 3-way match and discrepancy follow-up.
• Acts as a representative to the Accounting Department for inquiries regarding payable information across Huntsinger Companies.
• Monitors monthly vendor statements to verify aging and reviews open invoices with buyers.
• Maintains files for paid and unpaid invoices, including receiving reports.
• Ensures sales & use taxes applied to taxable purchases and sends tax-exempt certificates to suppliers.
• Maintains vendor records and updates changes with proper authorization.

Processes and coordinates matters of a confidential nature. Discretion and technical skills with ability to generally work independently is essential.

Requirements

• Responsible for processing vendor invoices and maintaining vendor files. This includes performing a 3-way match of documents and following up with appropriate internal personnel on discrepancies.
• Acts as a representative to the Accounting Department for inquiries regarding payable information for Huntsinger Companies (Huntsinger Farms, Kelchner Food Products, and Silver Spring Foods,). Maintains and promotes positive customer service communications and attitude with all contacts, internal and external.
• Monitors monthly vendor statements with internal statements to verify any aging. Reviews open invoices periodically with buyers.
• Maintains files for paid and unpaid invoices, including receiving reports.
• Ensures that all Sales & Use taxes are properly applied to taxable purchases. Sends tax exempt certificates to suppliers of tax exempt items/supplies.
• Maintains vendor records and ensures changes are properly authorized, including verification through known contacts.
• May serve as backup for switchboard coverage.
• Sorts and distributes all incoming mail, when needed.
• Is knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times. Follows all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviews them regularly.
• Demonstrates good judgment in respecting the confidentiality of financial information.

Education & Work Experience:

Required: High school diploma and two years of experience in an accounting capacity, with exceptional customer service skills. Preferred: Associate Degree in Accounting and/or three years related accounting experience.

Licensing, Registrations, Certifications:

Preferred: Notary Public

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and modern accounting techniques.
• Needs excellent computer skills, proficient in spreadsheets.
• Must be detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills.
• Must have ability to problem solve effectively.
• Must be able to work with sensitive information, requiring the highest degree of confidentiality.
• Must have good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
