Job summary

Mission Pet Health is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst to join the AP reporting and analytics team in Birmingham, AL. This isn’t data-entry: you’ll build reporting used by leadership, analyze vendor data, and drive process improvements across a modernized AP function including Workday, Factura.ai, and ServiceNow.

You’ll own recurring KPI reporting, develop dashboards in Power BI, and build automation to optimize invoice processing and AP metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or financial analysis; healthcare/veterinary/multi-site retail experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and comfort with large datasets.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tool.
• Experience with a cloud ERP (Workday a plus) and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Experience building in a work-management platform (Monday.com strongly preferred) or similar low-code tools.
• Genuine interest in AI and automation; hands-on experience automating workflows is a plus.
• Strong presentation, reporting, and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organized record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AP specialists and stakeholders to resolve escalated AP matters.
• Build and maintain Monday.com boards, workflows, and automations for project tracking.
• Contribute to automation and AI roadmaps, creating AI-assisted workflows.
• Support month-end close with accurate reporting.

Job description

We're looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join our AP reporting and analytics team. This isn't a data-entry role - you'll build and deliver the reporting that leadership uses to run the AP function, analyze invoice and vendor data across a large, complex organization, and help drive process improvement in a department that has modernized rapidly - including Workday (ERP), Factura.ai (automated invoice processing), and ServiceNow. A significant portion of this role is forward-looking development work - building new reporting infrastructure, workflow automation, and AI-assisted processes - so we're looking for a builder, not just a maintainer.

What You'll Do

• Own a portfolio of recurring AP reporting deliverables on weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences - building, maintaining, and presenting KPI reporting for AP leadership and accounting executives
• Develop dashboards and analysis in Power BI and Excel, working with large datasets pulled from Workday and related systems
• Build and maintain weekly reporting on Factura invoice processing performance - volume, exceptions, and processing outcomes - and partner with the team to improve automation results
• Analyze invoice, vendor, and payment data to identify exceptions, duplicates, trends, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvement
• Monitor and report on AP service metrics in ServiceNow - ticket volume, aging, and SLA performance - and maintain the dashboards and reporting the team uses to manage its queues
• Support specialized AP workstreams such as utility invoice management and vendor data governance
• Partner with AP specialists, hospital teams, and home-office stakeholders to research and resolve escalated AP matters
• Build and maintain Monday.com boards, workflows, and automations that run the team's project management and process tracking - including developing new boards as initiatives launch and keeping existing ones accurate and adopted
• Contribute to the department's automation and AI roadmap: developing AI-assisted workflows, improving automated invoice processing outcomes, and identifying manual processes that are candidates for automation
• Support month-end close through accurate, timely reporting that feeds financial statement review
• Take AP initiatives and projects from commencement to completion, including documentation of processes and runbooks

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or financial analysis; healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site retail experience a plus
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query) and comfort manipulating large datasets
• Experience with Power BI or a comparable BI tool strongly preferred
• Experience with a cloud ERP (Workday experience a plus) and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
• Experience building in a work-management platform (Monday.com strongly preferred - boards, automations, integrations) or similar low-code tools
• Genuine interest in AI and automation: comfort using AI tools in daily work and aptitude for designing processes around them - hands-on experience automating a workflow is a strong plus
• Strong presentation, reporting, and written communication skills - you'll deliver findings directly to management
• Excellent attention to detail and organized record-keeping habits
• Self-directed and adaptable; comfortable owning deliverables end-to-end in a fast-changing environment
