Job Summary

As an Accounts Payable team member at Field Fresh Foods, you will play an important role in supporting the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. You will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and helping ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal departments in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, supporting documentation, and required approvals.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation as applicable.
• Enter accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process vendor payments according to established payment schedules and company procedures.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements, researching outstanding invoices, credits, and discrepancies.
• Work directly with vendors and internal departments to research and resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice and payment status professionally and promptly.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with new vendor setup and maintenance of vendor information.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on items requiring additional documentation or approval.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and accounts payable reporting.
• Support the Accounting team with audits, reporting, and document requests as needed.
• Maintain the confidentiality of company, vendor, and financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

What You Bring To The Table

• Experience: Previous experience in accounts payable, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related financial role preferred.
• Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of basic accounting principles, invoice processing, reconciliations, and accounts payable procedures.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting, ERP, or financial management systems.
• Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to accuracy and completeness when processing invoices, payments, and financial records.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage a high volume of transactions, and meet deadlines.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and follow problems through to resolution.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal departments.
• Confidentiality: Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive financial information.
