Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team in Nottingham. The role is office-based with one day work-from-home after a successful training period. Start week commencing 2nd November, with an initial 3-month temporary contract.

You will assist with month-end processes, postings, reconciliations, and supplier queries, while gaining exposure to system transitions and VAT preparation. Strong Excel and SAP experience preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant.
• Strong Excel skills.
• SAP experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month end accounts preparation.
• Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, correction and other month end journals as required.
• Ownership of the Accounts Payable inbox
• Ownership of supplier queries and providing timely internal and external responses
• Ownership of maintaining the Accounts Payable tracker
• Raise Purchase Orders as required
• Support with producing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Support any upcoming transitions into new systems and tools
• Support with raising sales invoices with the Revenue Accountant
• Support with maintaining customer contracts in the Finance system
• Support with bank reconciliations and postings
• Assist with Accounts Receivable aged debt collection
• Assist with cashflow reporting
• Support VAT return preparation

• The ability to hold conversations with all levels of business
• Must be able to commit to the initial 3-month temporary period
• Must be available to start week commencing 2nd November
