Job summary

Tyson Foods in Springdale, AR, seeks a Poultry Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience in operations finance and accounting within a data-driven manufacturing environment. You will assist with daily reporting, yield analysis, and cost-tracking while learning from seasoned finance professionals.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Finance or Accounting degree, have at least one year remaining, and are comfortable using Excel and other Office tools.

Job Details: SUMMARY:

This Poultry Accounting Intern role is designed to provide a foundational experience in operations finance and accounting, this internship offers a unique opportunity to explore the inner workings of a a complex, data-driven manufacturing environment. As a Finance & Accounting Intern, you’ll gain exposure to real-world financial processes, collaborate with experienced professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that support plant operations and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Production Reporting – Monitor and report daily production metrics to support operational efficiency.
  • Disassembly Yield Reporting – Analyze yield data to support process improvements and cost savings.
  • Overtime Reporting – Compile labor data and report on overtime trends to assist in labor cost management.
  • Weekly Plant Variance Reporting – Prepare variance reports comparing actuals to budget/forecast and provide insights on key drivers.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Finance or Accounting major is required with at least a year of school remaining.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Communication Skills: Good written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Must have the desire to learn and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or in teams.

Location:

Students must be within commutable distance to the facility, which is 60 miles or less.

Position-Specific Requirements:

This role is a year-round opportunity that requires the selected candidate to work 15 – 20 hours per week during the school year, and as many as 40 hours per week during the summer. This role also requires the selected candidate to work in office at Tyson Foods’ Springdale, AR World Headquarters.
