Job summary

Dexter in Elkhart, IN, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead key accounting activities, drive process improvements, and enhance controls across the organization. The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution, partnering with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and IT to implement sustainable solutions.

The candidate will oversee general accounting functions, standardize processes, and evaluate automation opportunities, including ERP enhancements, to strengthen reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leading employees or projects.
• CPA, CMA, or similar professional designation preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting-related technology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead general accounting activities: GL, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to policies, controls, and standards.
• Provide leadership and development to accounting team members with clear accountability.
• Partner with Accounting/Finance leadership to prioritize work and improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and standardization across teams.
