Qualifications

• There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.
• Foreign education requires a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript to receive credit.

Responsibilities

• Examines, verifies, and maintains financial accounts and classifies accounting transactions.
• Determines general ledger accounts, journals, and subsidiary accounts affected, and the debit/credit entries to be made.
• Summarizes transactions and prepares control documents reflecting entries to be made.
• Processes and transmits deposits of funds from debtors to the correct general ledgers.
• Processes obligations, adjustments, and payments to General Post Funds for timely reconciliation.
• Maintains accounts within an integrated double-entry accounting system and understands inter-account relationships.
• Monitors FCP obligations to ensure funds availability and resolves out-of-balance situations.
