Location: Charleston, West Virginia (Onsite)

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt (At-Will)

Position Overview - The West Virginia Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) is a comprehensive statewide initiative dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare access, quality, and economic stability across rural communities. The program is supported by federal funding, requiring meticulous financial oversight and adherence to complex compliance regulations. As Accounting Technician, you will perform advanced-level accounting support work to ensure financial and reporting compliance for millions of dollars in federal grants. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of a high-impact program dedicated to improving rural healthcare infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Balancing & Reconciliation: Perform complex balancing and multi-account reconciliations, identifying and resolving tracking errors across disparate funding lines.
• Transaction Management: Classify and code a wide variety of financial transactions utilizing considerable knowledge of established accounting principles and program guidelines.
• Compliance & Auditing: Examine complex accounting records to assure strict adherence to accounting laws, federal regulations, and departmental policies; verify calculations to ensure the total accuracy and validity of all transactions.
• Financial Reporting: Maintain comprehensive accounting records. Gather, analyze, and prepare complex financial statements, specialized reports, and illustrations that reflect the relationships among various accounts, requiring steady searching and deep analysis.
• Journal Entries: Process complex journal entries and execute other specialized financial transactions that require the use of advanced accounting procedures.
