Job summary

The State of Alaska Department of Corrections, Division of Health and Rehabilitative Services, is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 1 located in Anchorage, Alaska.

This position forms part of the Accounting/Finance Team and includes reviewing, reconciling, and certifying card transactions while ensuring compliance with Alaska statutes and department policies. Candidates should have clerical accounting experience and related education to substitute for required experience.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
• Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.
• Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).

Responsibilities

• Review, reconcile and certify card transactions.
• Back-up for various financial documents ensuring transactions are processed in compliance with state statutes, administrative code, and policies.
