Job summary

Carver County is seeking an Accounting Technician to join the Health & Human Services team. You will perform a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, collections, insurance billing, account analysis, and monthly/quarterly reporting under supervision.

• Minimum two years accounting or related clerical experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of accounting activities associated with billing, receipting, payment processing, collections and reporting services.
• Follows procedures to safeguard and maintain customer information.
• Researches, summarizes and informs internal and external customers of pertinent information regarding payment and billing activities.
• Performs collection activities to recover outstanding receivables owed to Carver County Health and Human Services for services provided.
• Submits medical billing to Minnesota Health Care Plans, private providers and third-party providers.
• Provides back-up, support and/or assistance functions within the unit as assigned.
• Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

Carver County is looking for an Accounting Technician to join our Health & Human Services team! Under minimal supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Technician performs varied accounting functions to include accounts payable and receivable, collections, insurance billing, account analysis and monthly /quarterly financial reporting. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customer inquiries regarding Health & Human Services fiscal activities.

Upon successful completion of the probationary period, this position is eligible for partial remote work.
