Job summary

Financeroles is seeking an Accounting Technician for the Corrections Service Center in Augusta or Charleston, Maine. The role involves GAAP/GASB-based accounting for non-complex accounts within an established system and collaboration with CSC staff.

You will maintain financial records, prepare basic reports, and support reconciliations under supervision. Primary work location may be at Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston depending on residence.

Qualifications

• Entry-level to intermediate education, training, and/or experience in accounting or another closely related field demonstrating competency applying accounting principles.
• Ability to review and process business transactions and prepare reports.
• Ability to work under general supervision and collaborate with agency staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain non-complex accounts within an established accounting system.
• Collaborate with CSC Accounting Analyst for MVCF tasks.
• Prepare financial and statistical reports and summaries.
• Verify transactions for compliance with GAAP/GASB and internal controls.
