Job summary

Shared Success Center in Plano, TX is seeking an accountant to perform a range of accounting duties, data entry, report preparation and transactions in line with company practices. The office is currently Plano, TX and will be moving to Dallas, TX in January 2027.

You will interact with other departments and vendors, process accounts payable/receivable, reconcile statements, and support month-end close. Some overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance or general business or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years accounting experience. Related industry experience preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong calculator and computer skills with Microsoft Office including Excel; data entry proficiency and working knowledge of accounting software accounting programs.
  • Ability to prioritize and hand multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of general accounting tasks (90-95%).
  • Enter accounting data, maintain records and generate reports.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts and bank statements.
  • Process and administer accounts receivable and payable.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Perform daily cash management functions including deposits and wire activity.
  • Respond to information requests.
  • May enter payroll and assist with benefit enrollment (0-10%).

Job description

Perform a range of accounting duties and provide support to the department. Perform data entry of specialized information, maintenance and preparation of reports and a variety of intermediate accounting activities to be performed in accordance with company practices and procedures. Interact with other departments or outside vendors/agencies to resolve problems. The office is currently Plano, TX and will be moving to Dallas, TX in January 2027.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) Common job activities are listed below; actual position responsibilities may vary. Refer to your manager or human resources for specific duties and performance expectations.

1. Perform a variety of general accounting tasks. (90-95%)

  • Enter accounting data, maintain records and generate reports.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts and bank statements.
  • Calculate commissions, prepare statements and generate checks.
  • Process and administer accounts receivable and payable.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Perform daily cash management functions including daily deposits, initiate and confirm wire activity, analyze cash position, move cash, and record the required journal entries.
  • Respond to information requests.

2. Performs other general clerical and administrative duties. May enter payroll and assist with benefit enrollment (0-10%)

3. Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance or general business or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years accounting experience. Related industry experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong calculator and computer skills with Microsoft Office including Excel; data entry proficiency and working knowledge of accounting software accounting programs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus
  • Ability to work as a member in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and hand multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
