Job summary

Horizon Forest Products in Raleigh, NC seeks an experienced Accountant to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information across the accounting function. This role will manage daily cash activities, bank reconciliations, GL entries, and balance sheet reconciliations while supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.

The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills, strong analytical ability, and the capacity to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash activities and perform accurate bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries.
• Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Complete general ledger reconciliations using BlackLine.
• Administer Concur and manage employee expense reporting.
• Review and audit expense reports for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Support accounts payable activities, including verifying, posting, and reconciling transactions.
• Provide sales tax and accounts receivable support.
• Review and audit financial documents, accounting records, and procedures.
• Assist with internal and external audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Compile, analyze, and report financial information to support management decisions.

Horizon Forest Products is the distributor of Impressions Flooring Collection and offers customers over 75 years of industry experience and one of the most comprehensive inventories of pre-finished and unfinished hardwood flooring, floor equipment, abrasives, finishes, fasteners, and accessories in the mid-Atlantic and Texas region.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information and accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effective across departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage daily cash activities and perform accurate bank reconciliations.
