Job summary

Iowa Veterans Home (IVH) is seeking an Accounting Support Technician in the Admissions Office. The role involves compiling and verifying data across systems to support the Daily Morning Report, reconciling days of care, and processing invoices for VA reimbursement.

The position also handles trust account closures, business mail, funeral arrangements coordination, and requires strong communication and customer service skills to ensure accurate and timely information flow.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time work experience in processing financial or related data within established systems and procedures.
• Thirty semester hours of accounting or business coursework may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Compile, maintain and verify information across multiple systems to complete the Daily Morning Report.
• Reconcile resident days of care and submit invoices to the VA for reimbursement.
• Process resident trust account closures and long-term care insurance invoices.
• Process resident business mail.
• Contact funeral homes to arrange services and distribute information internally and to outside agencies.
• Communicate effectively, resolve problems and provide excellent customer service.
