Job summary

Maola Local Dairies in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Accounting Supervisor PA to lead financial operations and ensure GAAP compliance. This role supports financial reporting, closes processes, and drives cost control within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, CPA or MBA preferred, 3+ years in accounting, strong Excel and SAP/ERP experience, and proven leadership in a plant setting.

  • GAAP experience and solid accounting processes.
  • Experience with accounting software and MS Excel; SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with plant operations and accounting teams to develop systems, processes, and reporting to drive continuous improvement in all areas of the facility.
  • Provide ad-hoc review and analysis of revenue and expenses ensuring accuracy of AR & AP systems.
  • Maintain integrity of plant general ledger in regard to GAAP, including capitalization of fixed assets.
  • Responsible for the monthly financial close and reporting cycle, including variance analysis.
  • Responsible for invoicing processes and completing the monthly Market Administrator (MA) report for the plant.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader, gaining a detailed understanding of the operation to provide support through reporting and forecasts.
  • Develop and mentor staff with a focus on growth and process engagement.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of performance metrics, forecasts, and costing systems.
  • Learn operational processes to understand root causes beyond strictly financial functions.
  • Work closely with the accounting team on standardization of processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The Accounting Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Desire and ability to learn the operational process; going beyond the strictly financial functions to understand from an operations perspective the root cause.
  • Work closely with the accounting team on development and standardization of processesand procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • At least a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification preferred. MBA preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Track record of progressive responsibility and leadership preferred. Experience in a manufacturing accounting setting preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting processes.
  • At least 3 years of experience with accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus. Experience with SAP preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience with compliance requirements.
  • At least 3 years of experience with financial analysis and budgeting.
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising a team.
