Job summary

The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is seeking an Accounting Supervisor 1 to lead financial operations, review funding for manual invoices, and manage inter/intra-agency transfers. You will develop new processes to improve workflow and ensure timely payments and reconciliations.

Based in Phoenix, this in-office role offers remote work up to two days per week and a collaborative environment within state government.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field and one year experience at the Accountant 4 level or equivalent.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
Remote work option up to two days per week; primarily in-office.

Responsibilities

Analyze, review, and reconcile system payments to health plans and providers to ensure timely disbursement.
Run Cognos and journal downloads to summarize expenditures and revenues.
Supervise accounting staff and ensure work quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with GAO and other offices to fix vendor issues and ensure timely payments.
Monitor and analyze large data volumes and maintain compliance with funding rules.
