Job summary

Jobot has partnered with a well-established construction company in the Houston area to identify an Accounting Supervisor to join their growing finance team. This is a hands-on role overseeing the general ledger, month-end close, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, supervise staff, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with FP&A and leadership to drive accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including construction/real estate.
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP/construction accounting software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of accounting staff
• Identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements within the accounting function
• Assist with the design and implementation of internal controls and standardized workflows
• Support external audit requests and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Collaborate with FP&A and senior finance leadership on reporting and process initiatives
