Qualifications

Accounting Supervisor, External Reporting Position

Overview:

The Accounting Supervisor, External Reporting position serves a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of external financial information for the company. This position will be in the External Reporting group reporting to the External Reporting Manager and works closely with the Investor Relations department to support the preparation of earnings releases, corporate presentations and other material presented to securities analysts, investors, and industry groups.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Supervise a group of accountants including monitoring performance and development objectives, conducting regular performance review discussions, and providing coaching and training to staff.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure completion of team tasks and responsibilities.
  • Review analyses, schedules, and data for the Company’s SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, utilizing SEC filing software (Workiva), and at times prepare related schedules and workpapers to meet strict deadlines.
  • Oversee team’s progress over the Company’s Earnings Release and Call Script on a quarterly basis by providing thorough review and communication with team members, upper management, and Investor Relations department.
  • Monitor and research new GAAP and SEC pronouncements, perform assessments of their impact and assist in the implementation of new accounting pronouncements in the financial reporting process.
  • Perform, research, and resolve activities involving complex accounting reports with associated accounting analysis and related internal controls.
  • Interact and communicate with various other departments and business units to resolve financial related issues.
  • Create, update, and/or review supporting schedules for the preparation of financial statement footnotes and disclosures.
  • Review disclosure checklists under generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (GAAP) and other applicable standards, such as MD&A
  • Review and ensure the completion of extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) for SEC filings utilizing Workiva.
  • Assist in the review of Company’s Proxy and other public presentations such as press releases and investor presentations.
  • Coordinate audit requests with external and internal auditors.
  • Review and update business practices, internal control assessments, and business analyses, as needed.
  • Initiate and participate in other routine and non-routine functions as requested by management, including ad-hoc requests, various government surveys, process improvements, and ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

  • Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or other related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in accounting-related roles
  • Previous involvement preparing and/or reviewing SEC filings, including XBRL, is required.
  • CPA, or actively pursuing (parts passed)
  • A willingness to work overtime, as necessary, during filing periods to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to produce accurate results.
  • Ability to work independently under general guidance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Reporting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
