Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services in Georgia seeks a Senior Accountant to support general ledger accounting, internal financial reporting, and control processes. This role ensures accuracy of financial records, supports close activities, and partners with finance leadership to identify and implement process improvements.

You will work cross-functionally across the business, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reports, assist with audits, and help strengthen controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of general ledger or public accounting experience.
• Experience with large ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure timely account reconciliations
• Assist with preparation and distribution of internal financial reports
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions
• Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes as needed
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
• Serve as a finance partner on cross-functional projects and process initiatives
• Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency
• Assist with audit support, including preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
• Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support general ledger accounting, internal financial reporting, and control processes. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting close activities, and partnering with finance leadership to identify and implement process improvements. The position offers exposure across multiple areas of accounting, with opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to ongoing enhancements within the finance function.
