Job summary

The California Department of Justice is seeking a dedicated Accounting Student Assistant in the Travel Unit at Sacramento. Under supervision, you will gain practical experience handling travel issues, processing travel documents, and supporting policy updates.

You will draft changes, update the DOJ intranet, and assist staff with CalATERS and Concur processes. You will work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, in-office in Sacramento, contributing to daily reconciliation, data entry in Excel,

Responsibilities

• Researching, reviewing, and providing technical support of travel issues and projects.
• Reviewing and processing travel-related documents (e.g., travel expense claims, CalATERS claims).
• Drafting changes to travel-related policies and updating the DOJ Intranet.
• Reviewing CalATERS reconciliation reports and creating spreadsheets in Excel.
• Assisting employees with CalATERS account troubleshooting.
• Responding to inquiries about the Concur system and travel reservations.
