General Matter is seeking an Accounting Specialist in Los Angeles to own the AP/AR function, manage invoices, assist vendor/customer relationships, and support cash-flow operations as the company scales. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Proactive mindset with focus on process improvement and efficiency.
• Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to evolving processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Suite for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices with 3-way matching verification and manage payment cycles.
• Generate customer invoices, track AR aging, and follow up on collections.
• Execute month-end close activities including AP accruals and AR recognition support.
• Train and support non-finance teams on PO processes and spend management tools.
• Maintain accurate financial records across systems (Ramp, QuickBooks, ERP).
• Generate reports for leadership on AP/AR/cash flow and identify automation opportunities.
