Job summary

This role focuses on balancing EFT, Claims, Checks, and Refunds for both Commercial and Government lines within HCSC. Daily offshore balancing is reviewed with Alteryx-derived processes, followed by posting journal entries and performing detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

The candidate will research complex questions, support reinsurance entries, coordinate with actuarial and vendor resources, and assist with audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in business and 2 years accounting experience, or 6 years accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
• Auditing accounts to ensure they are in balance and aging is current.
• Clear, concise written and oral communication.
• Ability to read and interpret financial and membership reports.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Monthly preparation of reconciliations and researching variances.
• Audit coordination with governance for MAR/ EY cash audits.
• Point of contact for various projects impacting Bank/Reconcilers.

Responsibilities

• Balance EFT/Claims/Checks/Refund for Commercial and Government lines.
• Review offshore balancing processes and follow up on variances.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Research and troubleshoot complex questions and issues.
• Report reinsurance activity and prepare year-to-date statements.
• Coordinate wire transfers and support automation projects.
• Support internal/external audits and respond to inquiries.
• Serve as point of contact for reconciliation projects and regulatory inquiries.
