Dorchester County is seeking a Payroll Clerk to support the Payroll Manager in processing and preparing employee payroll. You will run payroll under supervision and handle related tasks while maintaining compliance with county policies.

The purpose of this job is to support the Payroll Manager in the processing and preparation of employee payroll; to run the payroll under the oversight of the Payroll Manager and to perform related tasks.
This position works under direct supervision of the Payroll Manager.
Requires an Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education.
Two years of accounting, bookkeeping or closely related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hour each week to maintain full-time status. Employees must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays during emergencies or as requested.
