Job summary

Avolta, including Dufry, HMSHost Corporation, Hudson, and affiliates, is seeking an Accounting Specialist II at the Miami location. You will support general accounting, accounts payable/receivable and payroll tasks, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced environment.

The role reports to the Operations Controller or Staff Accountant and requires a professional who can manage multiple logs and ledgers, prepare financial documents, and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 years payroll and/or clerical accounting experience.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents; converse with customers.
• Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains logs and ledgers to facilitate period close.
• Assists management in preparing financial reports, records, and bills.
• Processes accounts receivable functions such as daily cash and vouchers.
• Processes accounts payable by checking invoices and researching discrepancies.
• Handles payroll duties including bi-weekly payroll and payroll registers.
• Conducts cash audits and tracks cashier audits.
• Evaluates reports and audits; uses reports to minimize losses.
