Job summary

University of Mary invites applications for an Accountant I or II to support the daily operations of the Business Office in a Catholic Benedictine university community. This role maintains general ledger activities, assists with audits, and coordinates essential financial processes.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least two years of accounting or finance experience, and be committed to hospitality and principled service within the campus community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with relevant accounting experience.
• Minimum of two years of accounting or finance experience.
• Upholds and supports the Catholic Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
• Supports Ex Corde Ecclesiae implementation.
• Commitment to hospitality in the Office of Financial Affairs.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Journal Entries
• Maintains the fixed assets database
• Responsible for vendor management
• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations
• Oversees insurance and risk management functions
• Assists with preparation of the annual audit and 990 tax return
• Coordinates 1099 process
• Coordinates Unclaimed Property Filings
• Backup to Accounting Manager
• Performs other related duties as requested and assigned
